THE BEL TOLLS – NY Post
Matt Chico gave up three home runs. The Nats couldn’t hit when it mattered. Chad Cordero had trouble cracking 80 MPH on the radar gun. The Nats need some diving intervention!
Acta’s Away, But Office Is Occupied – The Post
Pope Benedict XVI is using Manny Acta’s office at Nationals Park this morning. This maybe just what the Nats need, though moving Nick Johnson to the cleanup spot would probably help too.

Rank: 13: Washington Nationals – Forbes
According to Forbes, the Nats are the 13th most valuable MLB franchise, but had the highest operating profit. Chris Needham of Capital Punishment breaks down the numbers and somehow restrains himself from not unleashing a profanity filled tirade about the cheapness of the Lerner family. Don’t worry Chris, all of this money is clearly supporting THE PLAN — the P-Nats have won 10 in a row!!1!!1 (Nationals Nation)
The timing of this Forbes article probably doesn’t thrill Stan Kasten too much, given that the Nats have a .267 winning percentage right now. Tough. With all that profit, they could have splurged and gotten a decent starting pitcher and not set back THE PLAN one bit.
