Marlins sweep Nationals with 4-3 victoryThe Miami Herald
Luck just isn’t coming the Nats way right now. They got a decent outing from Odalis Perez who only gave up two runs in 5 2/3 innings of work. Seven of the nine starters even coordinated wearing high socks, but that didn’t help either.

Both Luis Ayala and Jon Rauch faltered in relief, each giving up a run in the eighth and ninth respectively. Nick Johnson was robbed of a home run by Josh Willingham, who got enough leather on the ball to keep it in the park. The liner did go for a run scoring double, but that wasn’t enough. Two batter later, Austin Kearns Paul Lo Duca ground into a double play to end the game. Kearns, the previous batter, had gotten on after being hit by a pitch.
