Zimmerman, Dunn Get It Done for NationalsThe Post

For all the good PR of the past week, signing Stephen Strasburg and taking the interim tag off of Mike Rizzo‘s job title, the Nationals forgot how to win. Lacking a quality start since August 15 (what happened to John Lannan?) the Nationals entered Sunday with Craig Stammen on the mound looking to end that trend. He gave the Nats 6 1/3 innings with three runs allowed.

The bats woke up too — Cristian Guzman, Ryan Zimmerman and Adam Dunn all had home runs in consecutive inning. Zimmerman’s homer was his 26th, a career high and 34 homer pace for the season, while Dunn’s was his 33rd, putting on pace for 43 four-baggers. They combined for “two homers, four hits, three runs, four RBI and two walks.” Not a a bad middle of the lineup. Dunn just missed another homer too. Final score Washington 8 Milwaukee 3.
