Hammonds Is Right on Time – The Post
Game-Ending Single Lifts Loaiza, Undermanned Nats: Nationals 1, Brewers 0
I only caught the last inning of the Nats game, which meant I got to hear the most important part, Jeffrey Hammonds’ bases-loaded single to win the game. I didn’t know he had it in him. Here is how the 9th transpired:
Brad Wilkerson hit by a pitch. Man on first, no outs.
Jamey Carroll sacrifices Wilkerson to second and Brewers starter Chris Capuano gets the hook.
Vinny Castilla gets an infield single off Mike Adams moving Wilkerson to third.
Nick Johnson is intentionally walked to load the bases.
Jeffrey Hammonds singles to left, ballgame over, Nats win 1 – 0.
Gary Majewski picked up the win, meaning Esteban Loaiza pitched well again and did not get a victory.

Frank Robinson got thrown out for arguing balls and strikes with home plate umpire John Hirschbeck. Also, John Patterson will miss his next start, but ¡LIVAN! said he is ready.
MLB ponders keeping stake in MASN – The Wash. Times
Prospective ownership groups are being asked to submit two bids for the Nats. One bid needs to include the 10% stake in MASN that the Nats are entitled (seems too strong a word) to and the other bid needs to have it without the MASN stake. If MLB is not satisfied with the bids including MASN, it will keep MASN for itself. My first reaction is “thanks again for looking out for the Nats/D.C. fans best interests.” However, upon further reflection, how much is really lost if the Nats don’t get the MASN stake? They get $21 million or so either way.
